SICO helps to focus on strategic purchasing

BERLIN, 19.09.2005.

The introduction of electronic communication via SICO will not render the buyer dispensable. The optimization and greater efficiency of the purchasing processes ensure that the buyer can concentrate on the essential parts of his or her work.

The concept of the buyer as a writer of orders became obsolete long ago. The main focus has moved from the operational to the strategic level, as Daniel Zabota, chief editor of BA Beschaffung aktuell, Germany's magazine for strategic purchasing, materials management and logistics points out in the September 2005 issue.

The optimal employment of SICO technology allows the buyer to apply his or her know-how exactly where the company needs it in the long run. The buyer's focus is therefore on the strategic purchase, on the Supplier Relation Management (SRM) and the Global Sourcing.

By cost optimization in the purchase and the reduction of internal costs SICO helps the buyer to use his knowledge and his long-term experience on the selection and qualification of suppliers, on the conclusion of frame contracts, on the provision of catalogue data, the control of the logistics from supplier to consumer and last but not least on the electronic calculation and the payments.
